Numismatik Lanz München is a specialized auction house devoted to rare coins and medals.
Hermann Lanz, the father of the present owner, started the coin business in Graz, Austria, in 1947. Since 1977 the company expanded to Munich in Germany, where its headquarter is located in the prestigious Luitpoldblock building in the banking quarter of the city.
The auction activity started in 1972 and since then a total of 111 auction catalogs have been published, 15 in Graz and 96 in Munich, offering wellknown numismatic collections like the one formed by A. Marquis de Hohenkubin, who collected in Vienna from 1908 until 1972, by the fashion queen Margaretha Ley (ESCADA) and now the Leo Benz collection of roman coins.
The private LANZ COLLECTION OF CELTIC COINS has been published in 1997 and is the largest of its kind in the world.
